Updates and patches
Demo builds ran 0.8.36 to 0.9.25, then 0.9.64, 0.10.10, 0.11.18, 0.12.6 and 0.13.4 before 1.0. The changes that still matter are melee scaling, per-weapon fire modes and the removal of boss pillars.

Every version number the game has shipped, and the changes that still matter in the 1.0 build. Patch notes that only fixed one bug are grouped; patches that changed a system get their own line.

The patches that changed how the game plays
The launch patch (3 September 2025) is the most important early one. It unlocked three hack upgrades by default so new players could buy tiers immediately, moved the assault rifle from decryptors to Voidium, made the corner resonator Epic rarity because it was "just too good", increased Marksman reload but reduced its damage, and raised the difficulty of the Zone 02 to Zone 03 transition.
0.11.18 (20 February 2026) fixed a critical softlock that could trap new players in Zone 02, plus Boss 04 infinitely spawning enemies, a mod duping exploit, and the SMG chassis displaying incorrect stats. The softlock fix is the one that mattered: a new player trapped in Zone 02 with no way forward is the worst possible first impression.
0.12.6 (16 April 2026) removed the last remnants of the Overload mechanic from the UI. Overload was a scrapped experiment that had leaked into the interface, and the publisher added a note to the patch explaining that "additional damage never occurred" — a sentence that exists because players had been building around a mechanic that was not real.
0.13.4 (18 June 2026) is the last pre-1.0 patch. It fixed achievements not firing, audio issues with the storm anomaly, Dominion going out of bounds, and the run counter incrementing by two instead of one.
What the patch history says about the game
Two patterns repeat across fourteen months. The first is that achievement triggers have been broken more than once, which is why the achievements page recommends opening the relevant menu before re-doing the work. The second is that out-of-bounds and softlock bugs cluster around new zones, which is normal for content shipped on a solo schedule.
The third pattern is less obvious but more useful: almost every patch includes a readability change. Lasers made clearer, shockwaves made clearer, health bar counts capped, damage numbers persisting after a kill. This is a game that has been tuned for legibility as much as for balance.
Where the story content sits
Major content arrived in four updates: CHAOS TERMINAL (November 2025) for the endgame loop, HARD RESET (February 2026) for Zone 04, RECALIBRATION (April 2026) for modules and melee, and ASCENSION (June 2026) for Zone 05. Zone 06 and the conclusion arrive with 1.0.
If you are returning after a long break, the roadmap page shows what each update was supposed to deliver, and the Early Access timeline puts the dates in order.
What to re-learn after a long break
If you last played before April 2026, four things will feel wrong.
Melee now scales with enemy health. It no longer falls off in later zones, and the Severance hack that used to patch it has been removed. Melee builds are a real archetype now.
Fire mode mods are per-weapon. The generic versions were replaced in ASCENSION with tailored mods that have different stats on different weapons. A single-fire mod on an automatic weapon is now a genuine conversion.
Boss pillars are gone. Destruction chunks come from boss attacks rather than arena props, which changes where you stand during a fight.
The recycler exists. Shops can host a module recycler if you own the hack, and junk modules are now worth credits.
If you last played before February 2026, add wallrunning and the Zone 04 act break to that list. The movement vocabulary of the second half of the game is different from the first.
How to check whether a guide is current
The version number is the fastest filter. Any guide that recommends the Severance hack, refers to body mods rather than passive mods, or describes boss pillars is pre-April 2026 at the latest.
This site's pages carry a checked date at the bottom for exactly that reason. The game moves; a guide that does not say when it was written is a guide you cannot date.
